Umbrella Winter City Sounds is an open access live music festival presented by not-for-profit organisation, Music SA.
The 17 day festival will heat up the city and suburbs during winter with an exciting smorgasbord of over 300 live music events from July 12 to July 28. Established in 2016, Umbrella continues to grow in live music events by 30% each year and sees contemporary performances by local, national and international artists across pop, rock, hip hop, punk, jazz, world music, metal, folk and everything in between!
Umbrella Winter City Sounds is YOUR festival. Whether you are a venue, artist, promoter, event manager or council, we want you to register your live music event with us and be a part of the largest open access live music festival in South Australia!
Funding assistance is gratefully received from the Live Music Events Fund through the Music Development Office (MDO) and the South Australian Tourism Commission. Our other partners include the City of Adelaide, Adelaide Fringe, Channel 9 Adelaide, and the Australian Hotels Association (SA Branch).
Adelaide is officially recognised as a UNESCO City of Music. For audiences, Umbrella is the perfect incarnation of what it means to be a UNESCO City of Music. Umbrella is a grass roots organic creation that is made up of local venues and mainly local performers. It has a connection with the people and places of Adelaide, so that visitors who attend Umbrella events experience something that is quintessentially Adelaidian and reflective of a live music sector that is envied across the nation.
Umbrella Winter City Sounds acknowledges the traditional custodians, the Kaurna people, who’s ancestral lands we gather on.
