Girls Rock! Adelaide provides music mentoring for girls, trans and non-binary people aged 10-17 over 5 days in the school holidays. During the program attendees form bands, learn an instrument, participate in creative workshops, see live music, and collaborate in bands with peers to produce original songs. Mentoring is provided throughout the week by women, trans and non-binary people with experience in music, teaching or youth work giving our attendees a range of role models. At the end of the week attendees experience what it’s like to perform live to an audience at our Girls Rock! showcase, held on the Saturday. No music experience is necessary and we provide all the instruments. Join us at the end of the week for a gig showcasing original songs written by Adelaide’s newest rock stars!!

Girls Rock! Adelaide is a not-for-profit youth organisation taking inspiration from the Girls Rock! network across Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, WA, Aotearoa and around the world. We believe the fun, creative and healing presence of music is essential in the lives of young people and that a more inclusive music industry benefits us all. Girls Rock! Adelaide uses the medium of music to inspire confidence, encourage creativity, celebrate individuality and ensure opportunity for young people in a positive, inclusive atmosphere where young people can grow and experiment free from judgement. We work to create space for young people to engage and contribute in local music communities; empower female and gender diverse youth in music; and amplify voices that might otherwise go unheard.
